The Sound of Your Tears
All
alone, staring at the screen, nothing getting in
Frantically searching for
something to do
But there’s just a big space,
and in the middle there is
you
Searching for warmth, but how much can you get
through the wires of the
world,
they pretend to connect
But the distance isn’t bridged, it
is only looked over
So you fill the room with music
Because you cannot stand the silence in
the air
You have to block your ears
To the sound of your thoughts, the
sound of your tears
Clinging to the tiniest thing from a stranger
Pretending that it’s
something, pretending it’s true
Cause the alternative’s admitting that it’s
really just you
And you know they care, yes they love
you know they’d help if they
could
But they can’t, cause it was you who walked away
And they have
enough to do, in their everyday
So you fill the room with music…
And maybe they don’t know,
cause you just don’t want to say
What it
really feels like, to be so far away
You don’t want to hurt, and you don’t
want to burden
So you fill the room with music…
